Moab is where it all started for me—I took my first outdoor job here and instantly fell in love with the red rock, the people, and the endless adventure. I’ve hiked, scrambled, camped, and learned every inch of this region over the years. These days, I also work behind the scenes administering commercial use permits for local guides, so I know who’s legit, which areas get overwhelmed, and how to structure a trip that avoids the crowds while still hitting the highlights. Whether you’re looking for scenic hikes in Arches, backpacking routes in the Needles District, or quiet corners of Canyonlands, I can help you build something that actually feels like Moab—not a rushed tourist checklist.
This is my home turf. I know the Swell like the back of my hand—hidden trails, historic sites, dispersed camping spots, and places you’ll never find on Instagram.
This area is remote and rugged—but the rewards are unreal. I can guide you to river trails, scenic campsites, and the best ways to prepare for conditions.
I’ve backpacked both rims, rafted the river, and tackled some of the most challenging routes in the park. I can help you plan for conditions, logistics, and safety.
From the Gunnison River to hidden canyons near Grand Junction, I know the Western Slope well—perfect for low-key paddling and desert hikes.
I grew up exploring these wild southern gems and know every trail on Cumberland. Expect quiet beaches, lush canopies, and a totally different kind of magic.
I stumbled into the outdoor world by accident—landing a seasonal job in Moab at 23 with more curiosity than experience. Since then, I’ve built a career in public lands, guiding myself (and later, others) through some of the most awe-inspiring places in the West.
My background includes seasons with the National Park Service as a science and resource ranger, and now I work as an outdoor recreation planner for the Bureau of Land Management in Utah. My work has ranged from writing interpretive content and permit systems to mapping obscure campsites, designing signage, and partnering with local guides.
I know what it’s like to enter this world without a roadmap. I taught myself how to backpack, raft, climb, and navigate remote places—and now I love helping others feel welcomed, informed, and included. Whether you’re planning a solo trip, juggling family logistics, or venturing out for the very first time, I can help you craft something that actually works for your crew.
Backpacking through the Escalante route in the Grand Canyon changed the way I think about beauty. Floating that same canyon felt like moving through a dream. I’ve found wild solitude in the San Rafael Swell, nearly melted in the Black Canyon, and been stared down by gators in the Okefenokee Swamp. I’m constantly chasing the next joyful, weird, awe-inspiring moment—and love helping others do the same.
