I grew up in the Seattle area, hiking and camping the Cascades in the summer and skiing them in the winter, but drifted away from the outdoors until halfway through college. A summer as a Volunteer Vacation Crew Leader with Washington Trails Association, followed by an internship at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, set me on nearly a decade-long career with the National Park Service.
I’ve worked at small monuments and large parks alike—always connecting visitors to the outdoors through interpretation, trip planning, and education. For me, “outdoors” can mean anything from an epic, once-in-a-lifetime trek to a slow, mindful walk in a city park. My passion is helping people connect to place in meaningful ways, whether they’re solo adventurers, first-time hikers, or multi-generational families.
