Meet Abby

I grew up in the Seattle area, hiking and camping the Cascades in the summer and skiing them in the winter, but drifted away from the outdoors until halfway through college. A summer as a Volunteer Vacation Crew Leader with Washington Trails Association, followed by an internship at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, set me on nearly a decade-long career with the National Park Service.

I’ve worked at small monuments and large parks alike—always connecting visitors to the outdoors through interpretation, trip planning, and education. For me, “outdoors” can mean anything from an epic, once-in-a-lifetime trek to a slow, mindful walk in a city park. My passion is helping people connect to place in meaningful ways, whether they’re solo adventurers, first-time hikers, or multi-generational families.

My Favorite Adventures

⛰️ Climbing South Sister in Oregon’s Cascades—mentally and physically demanding, but worth every step at the summit

🌊 Hiking a section of England’s Southwest Coast Path—rolling climbs, sea views, and villages along the way

🥾 Backpacking with my dad through North Cascades National Park to Stehekin—an experience that inspired my geology degree and NPS career
