As a current staff member of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and former backcountry ranger in Yellowstone, I know this region intimately—from the most remote horse-packing routes to family-accessible day hikes. I’ve helped travelers of all experience levels plan safe and unforgettable adventures here.
While issuing backcountry permits in Glacier, I guided visitors of all ages and skill levels through their route planning. On my weekends, I backpacked solo throughout the park—so I’ve experienced both the frontcountry and the backcountry firsthand.
I fell in love with the outdoors while living in Stehekin, the most remote town in Washington, nestled deep in the North Cascades. I know the trails, lakes, and hidden gems that make this wild place so special.
I spent a full season as a backcountry hut ranger in Abel Tasman National Park, working deep in the forest for 8 days at a time and exploring the South Island on my time off. I also traveled extensively across both islands, including Tongariro and Wellington.
I completed my yoga teacher training in India and traveled solo through Thailand, Bali, and beyond. If you’re planning a nature-based or wellness-oriented trip to these regions, I can help you shape it with insight and intention.
Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve built my life around the outdoors—working in national parks, exploring backcountry trails, and finding connection in wild places around the world. I currently work full-time for the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and over the last decade I’ve held seasonal roles with the Forest Service and NPS in places like Glacier, Yellowstone, and the North Cascades.
Outside of work, I’ve traveled solo across 19 countries, taught yoga in India, and backpacked my way through some of the most remote corners of the U.S. and New Zealand. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned hiker, I love helping people tailor their trips to their experience level and goals—especially families, multi-gen groups, and solo travelers looking for freedom and flow.
