I spent 17 years working with Delaware State Parks, eventually managing all interpretive and outdoor recreation programs along the seashore corridor. Whether you’re looking to paddle a quiet salt marsh, join a surf-fishing clinic, or camp on the beach with your family, I know the coast inside and out.
Through my work and personal life, I’ve explored every corner of the Delmarva Peninsula—by kayak, by trail, and by car. I created the website Delmarva Trails and Waterways to help others discover the best paddling launches, beaches, hiking routes, and hidden fishing piers across the Eastern Shore.
Over the course of 11 years, I completed a 600-mile journey paddling the entire circumference of the Delmarva Peninsula. I’ve learned the ins and outs of kayak-camping logistics, safety, weather considerations, and coastal conditions—and I love helping others plan paddle trips of their own.
As a mom to a young son with special needs, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the outdoors can be for motor skills, language development, and confidence. I love helping other families find activities and destinations that are flexible, accessible, and joyful for all ages.
Hi, I’m Laura! I’ve spent my life by the water—first as a marine science-obsessed kid in the Chesapeake Bay region, then as a guide and park ranger leading kayak tours, beach walks, and outdoor festivals across Delaware’s seashore parks. For 17 years, I helped visitors of all backgrounds connect with nature through recreation, interpretation, and storytelling.
Today, I run Delmarva Trails and Waterways, a resource I built to connect people with the outdoors through real, local knowledge. I also help outdoor organizations with marketing and custom maps. Whether you’re a solo paddler looking for a new route or a family planning your first beach weekend with the kids, I’d love to help you make it feel possible—and exciting.
