Hi, I’m Mary! In 2022, I achieved a lifelong goal of thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Trail as a solo female hiker. Since then, I’ve completed 650+ miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, owned and operated a thru-hiker hostel, and guided backpacking trips across the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond. I’m passionate about helping solo hikers and first-time adventurers feel prepared, safe, and excited to take on the trail. Whether you’re planning your first overnight trip or looking to tackle a long-distance trek, I’d love to help you plan your journey.
My Favorite Adventures
🏕️ Thru-Hiking the Appalachian Trail – Nothing compares to the experience of living on the trail for months at a time, from foggy mornings in the Smokies to the final climb up Katahdin.
🚶♀️ Pacific Crest Trail Section Hikes – Experiencing the high desert, alpine lakes, and mountain passes along one of the most stunning trails in the world.
🏍️ Exploring by Motorcycle – When I’m not hiking, I love discovering new places by bike, especially scenic roads through the Blue Ridge and beyond.
📸 Capturing the Outdoors – Whether it’s an epic ridgeline view or a simple campfire moment, I love telling stories through photography.
I’ve hiked every section of the AT and have deep knowledge of permits, gear, resupply points, and strategies for tackling different regions.
As a professional guide in this region, I help travelers navigate Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and hidden local trails.
I’ve completed 650+ miles of the PCT, and I can help you choose sections, understand seasonality, logistics, and planning for long-distance hikes.
I have in-depth knowledge of Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park (home of Katahdin), and the best hiking in the Northeast.
From Zion and Arches to Grand Staircase-Escalante, I help hikers explore desert landscapes, slot canyons, and lesser-known trails safely and responsibly.
